II.      DESCRIPTION OF THE SUBJECT
The topics covered in this subject are mainly intended to generate students’ basic competence in speaking English. An emphasis on pronouncing different sounds in English, the subject to give a strong foundation for the students to produce acceptable English utterances. In this subject, students are guided to produce English utterances mostly related to their personal lives and surroundings and to practice several speech functions they may encounter in daily activities, So that this subject can become the foundation for student to get the next subject level.

III.   GOAL OF THE SUBJECT
In speaking the student will be expected to answer short questions, speak fluently and clearly on the chosen topic, and to interact with their partner. They are expected to be able to speak  English by using appropriate langauge variaties fluently and accurately in monologue and interactional communication, pronounce the words and sentences clearly. It is not expected to sound like a native speaker but should be clearly.
